BetterScore ("we", "us") operates the website at betterscore.live and publishes football predictions and analysis. For the purposes of the EU GDPR and UK GDPR we are the data controller of personal data collected through this site.

• Account data — name, email, password hash. — To let you sign in, save preferences and (if applicable) deliver VIP content.
• Subscription preferences — confirmed email subscribers, web-push subscriptions. — To send you the tips you opted into receiving.
• Usage data — pages visited, device/browser, IP address (anonymised). — To understand which content is useful and detect abuse. Only after analytics consent.
• Payment data — name, billing email, country. — Handled by LemonSqueezy (our payment processor). We never see your card details.

We rely on the following lawful bases under Article 6 GDPR:

• Contract performance — for account, subscription and payment data.
• Consent — for analytics, marketing tracking and email/push broadcasts. You can withdraw at any time.
• Legitimate interests — fraud prevention, securing our infrastructure, defending legal claims.

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies (session, CSRF, your cookie-consent choice). With your explicit consent we also use:

• Google Analytics 4 — page-level traffic measurement. IP anonymisation enabled. Retention: 14 months.
• Bookmaker affiliate cookies — set by partner sportsbooks when you click an outbound link.

You can revisit your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

We share personal data only with processors that act on our instructions:

• Resend — transactional and broadcast email delivery (USA, EU SCCs in place).
• LemonSqueezy — payment processing, invoicing, VAT collection (USA / Ireland).
• Google Analytics — pseudonymous usage measurement (USA, EU-U.S. DPF).
• Telegram — public broadcast channel (Dubai / UK).
• API-Football and football-data.org — read-only suppliers of public match data; no personal data sent.
• Hosting providers (Vercel for frontend, Render/Fly.io for backend).

Where data leaves the European Economic Area we rely on either the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (where the recipient is certified) or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

• Account data — until you delete your account, then 30 days for backups.
• Email subscribers — until you unsubscribe (one-click link in every email).
• Push subscriptions — until you uninstall or revoke from your browser settings.
• Analytics data — 14 months from collection.
• Payment records — 7 years (tax law).

Under GDPR / UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”) where applicable.
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Receive your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time.
• Complain to your supervisory authority (e.g. the UK ICO or your country’s DPA).

We use TLS in transit, hashed passwords (bcrypt), least-privilege database access and scoped API keys. No system is perfectly secure; if you suspect compromise of your account, contact us immediately.

BetterScore is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact us and we will delete it.

We will post any material change here and, where significant, notify confirmed subscribers by email at least 14 days before it takes effect.
